Uber Leet kiddies and other horrible similar peoples....

I was going to go play Neocron but heard about the horrible problem with the leet doodz or whatever....and the wanton newbie killing.....any online games on the market nowadays that don't have that problem? I mean... that doesn't have that problem in such a huge way that there is no way to escape it....

Well... sorta. EQ does have its fair share of the L33t kiddies, but you won't be player killed.

DAoC is a nice choice too. As long as you don'T go to a player-vs-player server you won't get player-killed unless you actually go to the frontier zones.

AC2 doesn't have much of a problem yet either since pretty much everyone is still new.

But there will always be a problem of leet doodz in every multiplayer games. Som people live to make you know how much better than everyone else they are

Or you could play A Tale in the Desert where there is no combat.

but ATITD only allows you a certain amount of turns and you can't play as much as you want. I like to play whenever I want.

That's only because they're in BETA, as far as I understand. Once the game is out it will be online 24h a day. Someone please correct me if I'm wrong.

That is quite correct Ekim. Some betas allow testers to log in 24H (minus the downtime hours because of crash/patch etc.) but not everyone can afford that. It costs money.

Once the game is publicly launched and players are paying for it, they will be up 24H per day 7 days a week (again, minus the crash/patch time).

Everyone who is attending any Beta should expect downtime. It's the nature of betatesting.

Forgive my ignorance, but what exactly is "leet"? I know it involves some sort of sorta goofy code text and retarded teenagers, but anyone have more info?

leet is a bastardized version of the word elite, which is how they see themselves. I have seen it spelled leet, l33t, 1337... basically any way that they can in some way make it look like the word leet. They often talk in 'leetspeak' using numbers instead of letters when typing whenever possible. They are also people who play RPGs to break the system, find loopholes and be as powerful as possible and pick on others rather than to roleplay. (generally)

But basically code text and retarded (pre)teenagers. That sums it up pretty well.

I see. So, it's not organized, just something that spread because it appeals to many young boy's need to break things, be jerks and feel superior?

Amen... however, it is in the way you conduct yourself to break things, be a jerk, and feel superior that subtle differences lie.
