Swords, Learningpoints & orcs...

Hey all, n00b here. I've got a few questions for ya.

First is about swords. Is there any way to get a Masters sword in chap 1 other than killing Cassia and/or Ramirez in the thieves guild? And are there any other melee weapons that have Dex requirements instead of Str?

I'm currently playing as a dragonhunter. I just entered the castle in the valley of mines in chapter 2, and am currently busy clearing the surrounding lands of orcs. Now, my question is this: Is there any point to bows at all? I've got an Elm Bow (since I only have 40 dex and can't use the composite.) and I need about 20-30 arrows to take down an Orc Elite, whereas I only need 2 - 6 swings from my Orc Slayer to take them down. I've currently got about 20 LP to spend, and I'm sure I'll level up a few more times before I leave the valley. Is it a good idea to put some points in dex & bows, or should I just keep raising my 1h? (currently 55%)

Re:

I only found 2 good swords in chap 1: Master Sword and Dragon Slayer ...

About leveling, once I reached 60% 1h, I had no more problems to take down 3-4 orc wariors or 2 elite at once ... (when I played as dragon hunter) ... All you had to do is parry and slide ...

I'd say that improving your dex only worth after you get a good crossbow...
(like war crossbow or dragon hunter crossbow)...

Rapiers use Dex, not STR. If you stand on the ram, you can safely shoot at orc elites without getting hurt. Other than that, bow usage is a personal preference. I don't use them, but I play mainly mages.

Ah, I see. I guess I'll just stick to my swords for now then.

The reason I asked for Dex-based swords is I plan on replaying as a mage, and I figured I could get away with not putting any points in Str early on, and still get a decent sword. So where do I find a Rapier in chap 1?

the rapier is behind onars farm in a small valley

go east of onars farm you will meet up with cord go on east till you meet pepe go on east and you will meet up with grom after that head into the valley there are 2 wolves and 2 trolls the rapier lies around at a stone with a dead body

I dont know know if in the english version PB managed it to clean the bug that you need dextery to hold the sword but you only do more damage if you have more strength
