When i try and join the Thieves Guild it says that we have our standards and you do not meet them.
is there anyway that i can join?

are you a member of the imperial legion? cos if so, i think it's that they don't recruit 'cops'

I no what i did wrong now  i did the codebook quest for the Fighters Guild so the Thieves won't let u join if u do that but u can still join by using the pcjoinfaction"thieves guild" command

I have this problem too. I've done about half of the Fighter's Guild quests, none of which seemed to conflict with those of the Thieves Guild (except maybe the code book, but Sotthilde gave me that cos I'm so good looking...).
Yet the head of the guild says I don't measure up to their standards... I have 50+ in all the thieves guild skills!?
Sorry, couldn't find anything in a search, I hope someone can help because I created my character specifically as a thief and it's quite infuriating to be refused entry into the guild. |

Guilds have both skill and attribute requirements. Do you have agility and personality above 30? |

Yup, I have Agility: 54 and Personality: 70
No other Attribute is below 40, and all the guild required skills are 50 or above.
I'm quite powerful now but I want to join the thieves guild and do all their quests before I go on my temple pilgrimage. |

I too had this problem ... before joining the legion (a mistake I won't make in the future, maybe  ). I believe it has to do with advancement in the fighters guild ... or maybe I just freed too many slaves from the smugglers caves.

I was in the thieves guild and freed all the prisoners in the smugglars cave, no problem there...
But I suppose since I was allready in it I might have gotten away with it or something. |

argh! i have the same problem. my stats are all up, although am only a swordsman in the fighter's guild. am not a member of the Legion either. and i got the codebook by admiring/bribing. why can't i join the thieves guild?
p.s. what stats exactly are needed for the sneak and security attributes? are these the only ones the thieve's guild looks at? |

You can tell what stats and skill are needed by checking out your standing with the guild....hmmm but if you can't get accepted....

I think you can't do the 3 quest in the fighters guild if you want to join the thieves guild. In the 3 quest of the fighters guild you have to find 4 people and kill them, and 2 of them are members of the thieves guild.
But joining the thieves is worth it, the quests are great, and one day you may become the grandmaster |

Right now i need to do the Trouble at Caldera Mine job for the fighter guild.
So i have to kill 4 thief guild members. But my main guild is the thief guild.
I think that if i let them attack me first, i will be fine.

I hope not. I will kill them, but it will be selfe defence then. I will try it out later.
I'm busy training my caracter. (i'm still in the beginning of the game)

oh now i remember! i did that caldera mines thing. yikes. i do think i taunted to get them to attack me, but of course in the end i killed them. so now what? is there no other way into the thieves guild?  |
