Loved Gothic I. Completely addictive. My eyes are still a little screwy from all the hours in front of the screen.
Was wondering if Gothic II is any more challanging, though, in terms of acquiring goods and skills? I finished the game in Gothic I with some 25,000 ore and at least 3 times that in other random goods. Didn't realize until the end how useless it was to picklock any chests or beat anybody up. Also (playing as a warrior) had 120 extra skill points left unspent. And more food and potions to keep me healthy then I could ever want. And acquiring this stuff is not difficult, just time consuming.
You can read the answer to most of your questions in the review weŽll publish in a few days.
G2 is a bit more complex than Gothic. If you want more challenging gameplay start with the dragon hunter. This career is pretty hard throughout 90% of the game, at least if you try not to kill everything that moves. I guess I died more often in chapter 1 than in two runs through Gothic.
Gothic II is better than Gothic. _________________ Webmaster GothicDot
