Need help with chapter 1 mage quest

I've found the first two elements, but I can't find the puff of fog and the piece of kindling. Help!

Well, to give you some vague help (I'm at work and don't have everything here) you get one piece while looking for each of the missing creature. ie there is one mage room in each of the area, Blacklake, The Docks, Slums, The Peninsula. Look for a sundial, there is one outside of each.

If you buy the maps from the vendors in the City Core (for 3 gp each) the Wizard Labs will be shown on your fully revealed map.

i was suprised by how hard that golem, er automaton, was! He smoked me and my familiar, and Red Tiger repeatedly til i finally juiced the whole crew up on every potion combo i could. Still then, was a tough dude

Erm... the golem/automaton at the very end of the quest falls apart if you do things in the right order and cast the right order of spells on him. No combat needed, as far as I recall...

You just have to stop Daelen and your familiar from trying to romp his ass as soon as you get in the room (the command to stand your ground works). After that the automaton won't even react to your presence.
