The way Garond just sits there, why I get the impression that the castle is no more than a gentlemen's club.

It's obvious that the Orcs are attacking the castle. Those paladins are doing anything against it. Still I always wondered why the Orcs put a ram near the wall, but never set foot on it and go in the castle.

That's an easy question. They put the ram there so you could get in, or at least tried and with a little bit of luck they could catch and kill you

if anyone else would pay attention to detail or common sense, you would know why the ram is there and not being used, for a ram to work then the bashing beam must be moveable, like being suspended by ropes or mounted on wheels, this massive ram WAS both, the rams wheels fell into the ditch that is the remains of the outter ring of the old camp, when it did that, the ropes suspending the beam in the back end of the ram snapped there by trapping the bashing beam between the outter wall of the castle and the remains of the south gate of the old camp rendering it immobile and therefore useless to the orcs for purposes of damaging the walls but still useable for a ramp to enter the castle. the reaseon why the orcs do not use it in this way is not because they are to fat for the beam to support them, but because they could easily be drivin off by the guards stationed above them when they tried to go up the ramp one by one.

now, who thinks i have to much time on my hands?

oh and i think hagen was the most antipathic character in gothic 2, man now my fingers are sore

Actually I never really thought about it, but that's a really good theory. I'm sure you're right.

Thats pretty good but i disagree with the orcs being that weak to palidens. Orcs can beat palidens at a 2:3 ratio, 3 orcs can beat 2 palidens.

Actually my money is on the two paladins, unless all the orcs are Orc Elites. Now there are some tough suckers!

You have a lot of free time to pay attention to such small details. Very good theory.

no way, when ever i see a fight between orcs and palidens the orcs always win, no matter how many palidens there are.
