You want your intellegence to be 5 or 6. I prefer 10 whenever possible... I'd rather have a 6 strength and a 10 intelligence over a 10 strength and 6 intelligence (not that a 6 int is bad).
For a first time through until you get comfortable try grabbing gifted. That will put all your stats to 6. Put 4 points into agility to get a 10, and the last point into... um... whatever, really. Perception is good if you want to use a gun. _________________ Estuans interius, Ira vehementi

DzD - I gave my copies away so some one else could enjoy them, but I went through Fallout 1 at three times trying different approaches to problems. I went through 2 at twice (and part way through about a dozen times).
They are very good systems and engaging stories. I wish I remembered enough to give you a couple of good hints...
You made a couple of very good buys _________________ =Member of The Nonflamers' Guild=

My friends and I played these games to death. Anyone ever get the BB gun and go around killing everyone? That was our favorite alternate way to win. It was brutal and chaotic. Also ridiculous. _________________ "It has been a grand journey- well-worth making once."

I saw this in a movie about a bus that had to SPEED around a city, keeping its SPEED over fifty, and if its SPEED dropped, it would explode. I think it was called, "The Bus That Couldn't Slow Down."

To see every thing in the game and all the versions of dialogues
you'd have to play it over a lot I think...All the possibilities ahh I love
this stuff... My most beloved character [ but in Fallout 2 ]
was :
Strenght 6 Small Frame, Gifted
Endurance 6 Tags: Small guns, Energy weapons, Steal
Perception 6 and I was playing to be everyones hero !
Agility 10
Inteligence 8
Charisma 6
Luck 5 but only at the beginning...
and it worked really well but the funniest char is
lowest int, max str and luck , Jinxed , Bloody Mess
Hey did anyone helped Bessie the cow in Modoc, then sold her, and then realesed her in Fallout2? _________________ =Member of the RPGDot Shadows=

I think Fallout 1 is crap.
I hate when you have a time limit! And, my friend told me you could finish the game in like 2 hours. |

Two questions:
I went to the brotherhood of steel and asked them if I could join. One guy said that I have to go to a city (or something like that, canīt remember the name) and bring something with me. I canīt finad anything exept a big hole in the ground. What should I do?
I am looking in vault 15 and canīt find that waterchip. I am down on the third level where you get a dynamite and 2 grenades (frags). I found amno but no waterchip. What should I do? _________________ There once was a youngster, DzD

Use a rope on the beam that stretches out over the hole.
But it's really nasty down there. Hope you're higher than level 2. _________________ Estuans interius, Ira vehementi

But the second question then?
Why is it nasty? _________________ There once was a youngster, DzD

It's nasty due to radiation poisoning. Have some Rad-away and Rad-x ready.
Vault 15 is pretty cut-and-dry. Go through all three levels of the vault (accessed by going down the ladder in the shed) and kill every single rat and variation of rat that you find. You'll need a rope to go down the elevators, but you'll find another in a locker on level 2 and you should have brought one from Shady Sands to go down the first one. In Vault 15, you'll also find a leather jacket and a 10mm SMG. When you get to the very end of level 3, you'll get a chunk of xp. After that, clean up the rest of the rat infestation and go back out the way you came. You get that chunk of xp when your character realizes there is no water chip there. You need to look elsewhere. _________________ Freeeeeeedom! Thank heavens it's summer!

I played my first fallout as a warez version I d/l off of internet (hey, I was a student on a budget...). I fell in love with it so much (even though I coulnd't finish it properly due to bugs in the ripped version), the first time I had money I went out and got fallout 2. Then when I could I bought the box set with both inside.
F2 must be in top 3 best games of all times for me. I must've played that game at least 12 times through to the end. There is just SO much to do and so many different ways.
Someone mentioned about playing as an idiot in F2. It is definately on the list of todo things after you finished it properly. If nothing else, to get to Modoc (that's the first town, wasn't it?) and talk to the local village idiot. That piece of dialog was the most amazing and incredible thing ever.
But overall, I think what made F2 such a hit with me were all references to our pop-culture. I was gonna say all the easter eggs, but then I remembered that there is, literally, an actual easter egg in the game. _________________ (@) |
