EverQuest: Something going on... |
|
Well, there's something going on about 'EverQuest' these days. If you visit the 'EverQuest' website at Sony Online Entertainment, you'll only get to see this splash screen right now. PlanetEQ is guessing that the mysterious screen may be related to an old article at IGN where an 'EverQuest' RTS was mentioned. The only official response so far was: Patience Is A Virtue.

OK, since I'm pretty good at wild guessing, too, here's my interpretation if you want to hear it *gg*. "Patience Is A Virtue" is the key to the mystery. EA has recently announced that it's punching out of the online business for a while. EA holds the 'Ultima Online' licence. Virtues are an essential part of the 'Ultima' games. Also, look at the orc's shoulder pad on the splash screen (lower left corner of the screen). Notice the rune-like insignia? Runes play an important role in the 'Ultima' universe as well.
Conclusion: Sony Online Entertainment has acquired the rights to do a game based on the 'Ultima' universe. Probably 'Ultima Online II'. Sony is going to announce the game at E3 in mid-May.
Maybe not... time will tell . |

Thats a load of contrived nonsense if ever I saw some, 'Patience is a virtue' is what anyone says when they have something to hide and cant think of anything better to say. And why would Sony attempt a resucitation of Ultima when they already have Everquest which is in full bloom? |

I agree! Not only that,I hope EA takes a bath with whatever their up to. So many real fans of the "Ultima" series have shown interest in creating re-makes of the older Ultima games just to have EA either ignore or forbid them to do so.EA is the personofication of a money-hungry,cold-hearted,big-business conglomerate that couldn't care less about players.I would rub my hands in glee if that business went tits-up. |

@ Guest: The lack of humor in this world doesn't surprise me no more but I don't understand why you get excited over a more than obvious meant-to-be fun interpretation of a rumor . |

I agree. I found his made up, deep delved explenation of what they were trying to say very humerous. Guess some ppl take things way to seriously at times |
