I have not played it before. _________________ =Farseer=

its cool. u collect models and assemble/paint em and everything. when u have a big honkin army, you wage war against other species...specieses...speciess. well whatever the plural of species is! its really cool. but its made in the UK and since i live so far away from there, the models can be REALLY expensive. _________________ =Follower of Righteousness=

I have about 3000 of the little 40k guys, even if I don't play it anymore. I have an Imperial Guard army, a Slaanesh army and a bunch of Imperial Marines. Since I started playing with the first edition I have some pretty old figures as well, like of the 8th Necromunda Regiment (The Spiders) etc. _________________ Jaz |

3000. Gack! That's about a 40k guy/post
Seriously, did you actually paint all 3k? My son has a few hundred and I've been drafted over the years to help paint about half of them. After the first 20 or so space marines, they all seem to look alike - how did you make it? (altough I have to admit that painting the vehicles is pretty cool, and I've not yet gotten tired of that). |

Actually it's a typo. I have not more that perhaps 300 or 400 . I painted only select individuals... after painting 40 genestealers which looked all the same I lost my resolve. I enjoy painting humans, though, so my Guard troops are at least partially clothed.
And I solved the Marine dilemma by making them Chaos Marines, of Slaanesh at that, so I could paint each of them in pastel colors and a bit differently from the others. I even adorned some of the Slaanesh Marines as well as the Daemonettes and Keeper of Secrets with rhinestones and feathers . They look like showgirls now. _________________ Jaz |

Whew! Welcome back to the ranks of not 100% over focused people
For a few moments there I was worried for you. 3,000 little men covers *a lot* of floor space! In fact if you assume each little guy takes up 1.5 inches (thats 3.81 cm) on a side that's an area = almost 7 feet a side (thats just over two meters).
I like you sol'n about differing units. That's what we did. Invented some radically different color schemes, although I didn't think of using feathers! Great idea ... Vegas show girls drop on Vega II |

Well, when we played a 3-sided SpaceHulk game (Marines, Genestealers, Chaos Marines) once my Slaaneshi Marines might have been losing the battle, but in their pink or baby blue or pale violet armor plus feathers/glitter they definitely were the best-looking troops on the table .
The feathers idea actually came to me while trying to jury-rig a crippled Terminator Marine and I thought, 'my, what could I do to make the misshapen arm look better...?' _________________ Jaz |

an ally of chaos!? i'm afraid i must eliminate you now, for the glory of the emperor! chaos was my second choice, but now i'm playing Ultramarines. i'll have to see how Marneus Calgar (the commander dude) looks with feathers on him. _________________ =Follower of Righteousness=

Apart from Slaaneshi troops I have Blood Angels, Dark Angels and a LOT of Chaos troops. And, of course, zillions of Guard troops who are -compared to Marines -REAL men . I even have 14 DIFFERENT
commissars!!!
Come on, Tom, try me ...
Ultramarines.. I just don't like the color blue too much, sorry . _________________ Jaz |

when u say "REAL men", do you mean in measures of testosterone, or flesh, bone, blood, soul? in either case, Space Marines are real men. i ferget if i read it somewhere, or if i just assumed it, but i think ultramarines were once the only chapter. or maybe it was the dark angels. whatever.
considering i have somewhere around 40 models, i respectfully decline your challenge...for now... _________________ =Follower of Righteousness=
