What's your favorite type of game controller? What kind do you prefer?

Keyboard mouse combo.
The most games can be playedf with this combo.

My second is Gamepad, i'm not fond of a joystick. I'm lefthanded and no joystick is. Work my mouse with right hand do.

Keyboard & mouse - most basic & most popular & most computer games control optimized for it anyway. Never used a gamepad or joystick - since all the games i played not necessary need them.

Keyboard and mouse. Although, new games with a lot of keyboard commands really make me feel old. I have to pause the game and hunt down the key...my response time is terrible

Mikehall, come on. You donīt need to feel old, I am sure that you can use q, w, e, r, t, a, s, d, f, z, x, c, and v without looking on the keyboard if you play a game like JK2 where you have force powers.

Mouse and keyboard rocks!

EDIT: I never tried a strategy keyboard, they look really strange with all thht buttons on it.

uh, that's not what I mean. I kill at those games..I even manage to take out a few 14 year olds!

What I mean is strategy, space-sim, etc. games that have this huge keyboard command layout. I can play for 40 hours and still have to pause and look at the board. If you buy a game, and it comes with a full size keyboard layout mapped to the ingame commands...*groan*.

Right now, I prefer a gamepad. I'm still not quite used to he keyboard and mouse yet. I can actually play a game without looking at my gamepad, so that is why I chose it.

I also hate those games with too many keys control. We're playing games, not playing keyboard. I came across several games that use most or almost all keys on keyboard - and i considered that particular games developer are evil.

One of the most important principles of game designing is to create a user friendly interfaces.

I use the keyboard/mouse combo because I love the sense of freedom the freelook with the mouse gives me. But I must say I miss my old Wico Redball joystick (back in the day of the C64) when I'm playing a flight simulator and I'd love to have one of those steering wheels for when I play a racing simulator.

Oh, I forgot to add that I am left-handed too but that was never a problem for me when using a joystick although it might have looked a little weird since I had my arms crossed to be able to reach the fire button..

I think we'll need to add another option to this poll when the "cerebral implant" becomes the controller of choice. I for one, will be first in line to be "modified for a direct i/o connection with any computer equipment".

I'll not hold my breath of course.
