Need Advice

So far I have mostly been starting new characters and playing for a few - several hours. I am ready to settle on one character and finally playing the game. Now, onto my question.

If you could offer one piece of advice from your experience playing, what would it be. Anything from character creation, dungeon crawling, weapons, skills, etc. Let it be heard.

My advice: every character pays off, do not give up at start. You will be low, slow, weak and so on at start but eventually you "kick the nuts" (forgive the expression;).

So the advice: Do not give up, whatever kind of character you play with!

Morrowind is all about adventure, not always knowing what your about to encounter, keep your eyes open to everything cause it all makes sense when you can start to look back. A sideeffect of all this indepth play is you forget to save sometimes and can end up wasting a lot of time playing which turns you off pretty quick , well it does me anyways, so quicksaving is key, not to reload to perfect your actions but just to do as precaution of wasting hours of gameplay.

Don't try to correct your decisions with save games unless they led to death - that's my single piece of advice.

Always have an armor type (or unarmored ) as a major skill.

Always have a melee skill as a major.

Kill anything that even looks at you funny (not including NPCs).

Always, Always, Always keep at least 6 potions of Standard Restore Healthy, 3 potions of Cure Common Disease, and 3 potions of Cure Blight Disease.

Potions of fortify can be very useful.

Never sell or drop magic rings. They may be useful when you least expect it and they don't weigh anything more than .1. The only time to get rid of them, is when you simply have too many to effectively scroll through.

Always keep an intervention scoll on you.

Don't neglect you stats, particulary strength and endurance.

Quite your job.
Divorce your spouse.
Ship the kids off to Auntie Jo's for the summer.
Get rid of all pets.

... Your not going to have time for such minutiae.

One piece of advice? Enjoy....

Seriously, don't mind whether your character is Superman or Supergimp, there are no such things in this type of game. For every person who says "use this skill" someone else will say "no, use that skill". Choose what you want to be, then mold that character's creation to that image and build from there. Some will start easier, others will be enormously powerful later.

Oh, and one other thing...... enjoy... !

Easy.

Start with a high END, then max it ASAP. Very few people enjoy having low hp...
