I installed MM9 yesterday , had much fun choosing my characters , looking back at day of the destroyer , but when I started the game, it never left the loading-sequence .
I went insane waiting for it to pass(and looking at that dumb boat) . so please, if anyone can help me, please do. cus I've tried everything! (even editing the files)
My OS is XP, I have a athlon1800, 256ddr, Gforce1ddr, and more than enough space on my HD

I emplore you to help me, ur my last hope....

Have you installed the latest version of Direct X? Have you updated all your video/audio drivers to be consistant with Direct X 8.??? ?

This *should* solve your problem.

With XP this is most often an issue of background programs causing problems. I posted some instructions on how to find and kill hidden background programs in another thread. I will try to find it...
