They allow you to use runes of a certain level.

It requires rune's alright, but also requires Mana.

Stupid question, how exactly do you get to the first circle? I bought a book on the first circle, but it doesn't seem to do anything when I read it.

I just made Templar myself. I'm disappointed my armor doesn't have shoulderpads.

Since you cant get past Level 4 as a Sect Member I wont reccomend you to spend to much points in Magic.

However, you can teach yourself Magic (and buy runes) by talking to Baal Cadar

He's the one standing beneath the Templar training arena (in a small 'scene' with red banners on each side of it).

Hah, yeah, I just figured it out by talking to him a few minutes ago.

I mainly just want it for the light spell, and perhaps healing.

I'm more of a chop 'em up or beat them to death kinda' guy.

Personally I believe both Light & Heal are worthless since the equipment food/potions/torch works the exact same way but doesnt cost mana.

what is the deal with the magic books? i have picked (literally, i stole them from a chest somewhere) up some books on the circles of magic that don't do anything. or, do they? maybe the magic books are just for kicks?!

The books give you a few tips you might miss out if you dont read them. One gives you a quest and one grants you a new skill.

The Circle books contain your best information about what magic is available to you as a magician of that circle. Note thou, the Sect Magic is not provided in theese 'Manuals'.
