Enchantment question
   

I understand the concept behind enchanting an item. But the items I purchase, amuletes, rings, and the like from shopkeepers wont accept mana enough to make an item worth a darn. What sort of items should I be looking for? Should I use an existing magic item (a starshot ring for example) and try to give it a new enchantment?
