Gamespot's Senior Editor Andrew Park has devoted his <a href="http://www.gamespot.com/features/6085963/p-2.html" target="_blank">Gamespotting</a> entry to a history of Black Isle Studios, from it's formation post-Fallout to it's demise, with links to numerous news items throughout the years.

Very depressing story. Still, I wished they didn't cancel Torn. They could've redesigned Torn using the Infinity Engine (rather than making IWD2, which was still a good game IMHO) after failing to use the Lithtech engine (dumb idea in the 1st place).
