I have to be a novice to become a mage?????

The Monestary is located on a road from the Tavern between the castle and Onar's farm. THere is a statue of Innos marking it and it has two burning candles on it. Also you will know you are on the right road when you pass by a large shrine on your left with a mage praying there. Continue on the path and you can't miss it!
