I passed the single mode so this is only to satisfy my curiosity.
In the barracks there is one guy barely wounded. I believe that with very charismatic character you have more option to converse with him. So what was the reason he had bleeding leg?

If you talk to him, ask him about the leg, quit the dialog, heal, then talk to him *at once* he will thank you for healing him and come clean. He testimony makes sure the trial result is unanimous (assuming you stay away from the race issue!).
