Radeon 8500 problems

I recently switched out my GeForce 2 TI with a Radeon 8500 becasue I thought it would be a better card. However I am now having problems with the game. Parts and pieces are missing, like an arm will be misssing, or a leg, and the scenery flickers. I can play any other video games, like Star Wars, Jedi Knight II, and they look great (better than the geforce). Is there a way to fix this? Please don't laugh cause I don't have the latest greatest video card. I take what I can afford.

Nobody will laugh at you here, snocaps. Many people here don't have the badests computer ever To your question, then.

I have Radeon 9100, which is basically a better version of 8500. Chipset is the same. I didn't have any problems with graphics in Morrowind, nor in any other game, besides Arx, where Radeon cards lead to small graphical defect. Not deadly, though.

My first suggestion would be - install the latest Catalyst - universal driver pack for Radeon cards available from ATI site. It can solve many problems.

This is what I heard:

- newest Catalyst versions in combination with Radeon 8500 are causing several problems in Morrowind - it is sugested to move back to 3.7 version

Yes, itīs a driver problem. I played Morrowind on a Radeon 8500 without problems. Go back to an older Catalyst in the 3.4-3.7 range. 3.8 ... will be replaced soon, I guess.
