Gadgeteers are fun to play with. I'd recommend having a gadgeteer or a bard in your party. _________________ Freeeeeeedom! Thank heavens it's summer!

Gadgeteers get very strong in the end-game. The gadgets get pretty good, but his upgraded omnigun (when loaded with decent ammo) is a sight to behold. Most gadgets can't be built until mid- to end-game, which makes them a tough class to play for impatient gamers. _________________ =Proud Member of the Non-Flamers Guild=

Thanks for the info. I would like to know if the gadgets found and merged to become an item, does the item has limited charges?. I found bards to be very powerful esp with the group ailments/party enhancement effects and of course it will never get out of charges. Gadgeteer sounds fun but i dislike sci-fi in any games. I like legendary games that has knights, wizards, etc. They should be legendary and heroic. Adding laser/guns/robots into the game really spoils the environment.
Last but not least, I would like to know where can i buy empty potion bottles? So far I have only collected a few which is not really sufficient for the swamp pond. |

Most gadgets take stamina to use, just like instruments. A couple have charges. They have to be treated like a mana stone- run it down to 1 charge (actually, any number greater than 0 will work), sell it to any merchant, and then buy it back.
As far as I know, there isn't a good source for empty bottles. Most merchants will have 1 or 2 in their inventory, but that's about it. As you've probably noticed, empties show up as random loot as well. Unless you have a serious infatuation with cherry bombs, I wouldn't worry about it too much. _________________ =Proud Member of the Non-Flamers Guild=

My least favorite thing about Gads is that their items require 2 or more parts, that are most often very far apart. Bards only need to go one place for each "spell", and casters don't even have to go anywhere for some spells, and most of the ones you can get in books are centrally located.
And there's no big practise item for Gads to pump Engineering. _________________ If thousand-year-old family traditions are so important to you, why do you have indoor plumbing and electricity in your family's house? |

My first party has a bard and a gadgeteer. If you dont have a gadgeteer then dont you need a thief? Or do you wait for knock knock spell ( i just got it now at level 13) A bard doesnt pick locks and there are very important things behind locks. early.
The gadgeteer is level 13 now and just starting to rise from most worthless to maybe second most worthless lol.
The lava lamp is very powerful because not many things are immune to it.
I always do round 1 insanity from my bard and lava lamp from the gadgeteer, and almost everything cracks from just that first round, and i can set the game on auto for a while.
My omnigun is starting to be good though with double shot blind and ko + the ammo effects.
I assume eventually it can shoot rockets. because ive had some rockets for a looong time and ive never found anything that can shoot them
Also, i found a bug in the game with gadgeteers and npcs.
I had the trynnie gadgeteer join my party. his omnigun was level 5 and mine is level 7 or 8, so i was going to try and switch and see if my gadgetter can upgrade his weapon.
But as soon as you try to take his mk he says no thats mine you cant have it.
And if you give him your mk, he decides that one is his also lol. So any MK gun that comes into his possession he will not let go. |

Hey, now! i've never met a Bard without the L&T skill available; it's Gads that lack something--PP! Locks and Traps is a skill available to: Rogue, Ninja, Bard, and Gadgeteer. You can practise it up as high as you need it (60 without bonus is quite enough to get through) in one level as any of those, and you can also develop Stealth if it's a Rogue or Ninja--and Shield, only with a Rogue. So i often start a char as a Rogue who changes at L2 to whatever.
Knock-Knock is a L3 spell, available at Caster level 5 (Hybrid level 9) if your School skill (Alc or Wiz in this case) plus one-tenth of your Realm skill (Earth) equals 30.
To obtain special personal items, right-click them onto one of your chars' portraits while in the Inventory screen of the NPC, then give them anything from the party boxes and take it back, then dismiss the NPC to keep the item. _________________ If thousand-year-old family traditions are so important to you, why do you have indoor plumbing and electricity in your family's house? |

Is it worth having a gadgeteer? What does it do? Merge items? Where can i find info on what items to merge with what? I am currently having Madras in my party(he already gained 1 or 2 levels with me). Also on level up, I am not sure what attributes point is neccesary to pump him. What skill should i shape him up with? Thanks.
