Gothic 2 errors *cries* (I really want to play this game) :(

The game runs fine and smooth...except that it shuts itself down with a "Generated errors and will be closed" message about every 5 minutes... Anyone else having this?

AMD 2200+, Asus GF4 Ti 4200 (det. 44.30), 512 Mb DDR, 1 Gb page file, DirectX 9.0a, Windows 2K with service pack 4.

Interesting to add is that I also had this problem with Morrowind, except it didn't happen as often as in this game.

Oh yeah and next to the standard win2k generated errors message I also get this one on the occassion together with it:

Iīve seen a very similar message a few days ago when I was overclocking my NForce2 board. In my case it was fixed when I went to the BIOS and gave slightly more power to the CPU and the RAM.

Do you happen to have access to another DIMM module?

Nope I don't. But I don't think it's my RAM, because all other games (including way heavier like Unreal 2 etc) run fine without any problems.

I donīt have any other ideas apart from the typical 'update all driver and disable sound' blabla. Maybe you should open another thread in the official forum and mail to PBīs support. (But donīt expect an answer. )

bwt., I would personally say games like Gothic 2 and Morrowind are a lot 'heavier' than Unreal 2. U2 has nice graphic but nowhere near as big a world and sometimes not a single NPC.
