Its not a ponytail, its actually a giant water-leech that caught onto the back of his head and took control of his brain . It was actually the leech who destroyed the barrier (with your help of course) by controlling the unnamed hero through his adventures

Hey!

You' re fighting about a ponytail, but you' re forgeting that most people of that time(or the equivalent in this world) had long hair. They didn't have the means nor the will to maintain all-the-way short hair(some chars are completely bold in gothic )

So, the ponytail is sompletely natural, but it's shape is a bit funny, must admit..

Oh,..and according to that you're the only normal person within the barrier

Poney tails and Swamp Weed history lesson.

With all that Swamp Weed going around in Gothic, it reminds me of the good old hippie days back at UCLA college in the 1960's. Alot of long hairs and pony tails. The view from the prison was great!

Leave the pony tail alone. Who really cares. I didn't - it's one of the best games ever so it doesn't matter about the pony tail.
Although in the opening sequence I'm sure he didn't actually have one and it appeared when he was travelling through the air into the pool just before he was beaten up by Bullit and Co.
