Armorer

I should probably read manual or some guides, but - what is armorer good for and how to improve it. I started with armorer = 20 and I am not able to improve it. How to work on this skill?

With that skill you can repair your own armor. You need an armores hammer to do it. You can get those at most stores.

I stole this trick from HETT in the official Morrowind forum. Hopefully this will help. The last paragraph may be useful--repair thongs (i.e. improving armorer skills) for free.

Never buy repairs from an Armorer or Smith. Always repair armor or weapons with a Repair Prong, so as to raise your Armorer Skill. The difference between the repair tools is how much of the armor/weapon they repair when a repair is successful. Your Armorer Skill determines how often you will be successful. Using a Repair Prong will mean you must make more successful repairs, raising your Armorer Skill, faster.

Never sell armor or weapons that are damaged, repair them before selling them.

If you create a Quick Key slot for the Repair Prong, you don't have to hunt around in your Item Inventory for it.

Never carry more than 0ne Repair Prong. Never use it all the way up. Use it until it only has one repair left, then sell it to an Armorer for 1 gold. You can buy it back, for 1 gold, and the Armorer will have "repaired" the Repair Prong, so it has 20 more repairs! This trick works with Wayn and Meldor in Balmora, Hodlismod in Caldera, Tuveso Beleth and Dandera Selaro in Ald'ruhn and Hrundi in Sadrith Mora, Wolverine Hall.

@Danicek I found this skill really, really useful. If MW is like Daggerfall, as your armor and weapons degrade they are less effective. In any case it is a good thing to keep your equipment in tip top shape!

You can get free repair hammers at the fighter guilds supply chest.

It is the same. I also really like the armorer skill, it's one of the things I like to do. I like to enchant everything, fix everything, make potions, decorate my house, buy new clothes for my character, trading... things like that.

Combat, quests, tombs... Pbbbtttt. *smile*
