It was my understanding that the hero never actually DIES- hes just trapped under piles of rocks- the only thing that saved him was his magic armor. To me this makes perfect sense for the story in G2. He gets knocked unconscious by the falling rocks, and as he is trapped for many weeks his muscles atrophy to practically nothing- a very realistic and believable scenario.

He's Pretty much correct, from the demo movie i saw start the hero wasn't dead more like a slow pinned dying, almost coma and the movie also explained why the Uriziel wont be in gothic 2, Because when he was transported outta the cave the sword was left behind, and since its barried under a moutian it can't be gotten too, and if u also watch the movie the ore Armor is Destoryed sadly when its finished teh spell seemed to cause it to explode

Just rambling but...
the whole Uritzel setup: (left behind)
could be something interesting for G3
Something comes that can only be killed by Uritzel and you have to find it.

i was thinking somewhere along those lines also noble_paladin ... that would be pretty cool have to venture down some newly mined caverns into the ruins of the sleeper temple ... you could fight the templars ghosts and it could be dark as hell and need to use a torch at all times ... but yeah ... i like how they pulled off the "amnesia" gimmick in this game it makes sence i think ... xardas explains the whole situation right at the start doesnt he? you had to be brought back had to leave everything else... easy enuff for me ... now onto the english release

Resurrection might not be used in the literal sense.

And I interpreted the ending movie of G1 that Uriziel's power was used up.

better then amensia at least.

No no no! In Gothic 2 Xardas tells you must be a favourite of the Gods, and rememeber the sleep is evil...Innos and Adanos are good...

and 200th post! woohoo!

he also mentions he must be in favor of the gods or he would Be dead right now which means he didn't die but you could say he was Resurrected in a sense , like not a Resurrection from death But from his old life old way, Givin a new Chance to do good, and earn his freedom yet again,

and yes from the movie in it i would say the uriziels power was sucked dry in the end when u see the lighting of the blade and the blue force of death, , uriziel shoulda still been in g2, it coulda been a wall peice of something the sword was found blade broken power lost, Rememberence of time past for no more

I think playing with same old fellow is quite allright, but i just hate so much that stupid awfull uglylooking ponytail! If the hero would be a girl, well then it would be nice, but a guy with a ponytail..it just doesn't ´feel any herolike to have a ponytail. It just looks so bloody ugly.

Yuh most likely u know i wouldn't doubt it the english gothic 2, was being stock piled in jowoods building basement or sumfin , just a gimick to make more demand and news about it,, i've known 3 companies to do that before, and when that got out the law suits that hit them almost knocked em outta business
