No replies, no problem: I bought it anyway! Its neat so far, the text is almost too small to read, but the character creation is interesting. I'll post more after I get into it.

I had heard nothing about it (and don't own a GBA in any case) until I saw it at EB. How close is it to the original game?

Did the company that made EOB for GBA had to have some sort of agreement of the company that made the original EOB to produce it on GBA? Or is that game so old that you can just create a new one without any problems?

I just now finished it, I'll post a review when I get a chance. Compared to the orginal (which i didnt finish last year when I played it last; infact I have never finished it) it uses roughly the same maps, the graphics look better on the GBA only because they are smaller. They changed up the opening scenes that set up the game, i would also assume they changed the end scenes as well. They added in some dialogue in game, and for the life of me I dont remember going up the inn early on. The biggest difference is combat, the GBA combat is alot more fun, it is like the old gold box games, but with 3rd ed rules. The rules set they used faithly follows 3rd ed, and works out well. The Eye of Beholder game rights still rest with TSR's owners, Infogrimes, and the rights where lisnced to Pronto games (never heard of them before this title). If i recall correctly, SSI made the orginal game, but they where not listed on the end credits for the game.
