Ok. First let me say next to Alternate Reality the Dungeon, Gothic II has to be my favorite RPG of all time. (Even better than UO7 and Uo7.5) With that said it drives me NUTS!!!

Upon inital load it starts fine but then every time I quit for the session and go back to play again it wont start.. I have to a full re-install...

Now I searched the forums already:

I tried 8.01b directx, 9.01a, 9.0b
I tried Many diff Geforce Drivers
I tried FAQ Vdfs32e.exe update

Nothing seems to work..I seem to recall no patch available for U.S. version thats ashame..

Any suggestions???????????????

My system is:
AMD Athlon XP 2000+
1.67 GHz
512 MB RAM
VIDEO:
GeForce FX 5200 256 Ram

O.k warpig,

First, welcome to the forums.

More info's is required before being able to pinpoint your problems which are definately not G2 related, your system is mostly unstable.

We would nead to know your mobo' model and exact version (including bios version) also what mobo' chipset you have, also the chipset driver version, also what cd cd/rom dvd/rom setup you are using. Do you have raided hard drives, do you have multi-partitions or compressed drives. Also if you have background aplications running, virus software, firewall etc'
Your mobo' bios settings are also critical, but that is too early to determine just yet.

Awaiting your reply.

My guess would be a virus. G2 is infected upon the first start. After that the exe fails the CP check.

@warpig,

The advice was not meant to be too personal, more kind of helpful, you see the strange thing is Gothic II runs on my pc perfectly well, so when i hear of players having difficulties running the game, i want to try and help them in some way, but i have to admit, it is difficult across the web.
