Shrike's hut

I'm giving the mission to convince shrike to leave the hut. I talk to him and he tells me to go away. I kick his arse, rob him. He still won't leave. I beat him again and again. He keeps getting up and getting mad at me for being in his hut. I talk to the Mercinary (Goron?) who sent me on the mission and he has no conversation options. What am I missing?

Did you speak to Shrike after beating him up?

If you decide to beat him while he's outside of the hut: Beat him, then talk to him and tell him to buz off.
If you fight him inside, you must step outside of the hut when you intend to speak to him afterwards. Then, you musn;t stand on his way, while he goes. I dunnot know why, but it was that way for me..

Talk twice

I just beat him up and the first time I talked to him after he just told me to buzz off (or something like that.) The second time I talked to him I got to tell him to leave and he did.
