Bloodlines system requirements?

Hello all,

Just a quickie...

Bloodlines should be waiting for me when I get home (yay - a decent RPG this year!) and I was wondering what the system requirements are reccomended and what is actually needed to get any decent performance.

I cleaned all my system out yesterday and downloaded some special ATI drivers from IGN that apparantly give 15-20% better performance with the Half Life 2 engine.

Also what tweaks in the game sacrifice the least but give the best performance increase?

Cheers

Jellylad

The only times I had slow downs was near water or steam. Sometimes my system would slow after I'd been playing for a long time or loading hub areas. Other than that, the performance was good. I cranked up all of the settings. Sometimes the game would slow down if a program running in the background started doing something, like McAfee downloading an update. But that's to be expected.
I've got an AMD 2600, 1 Gig of RAM and Radeon 9800 Pro in my system. If I got a better processor, then I'd probably see my performance improve.

playable with shadows turned off and medium effects ( the middle of the slider) on my below specs laptop at 1024 x 768

amd 1800, 512mb ddr, 32 mb g4mx420

I needed to get the latest drivers from nvidia to stop stutters.

runs much faster than doom 3 on the same system.

runs about the same as far cry did.

load pauses are very frequent in this game. Good game to watch tv to.

Well, i've got it and it's up and running. It runs as smoothas a smooth thing at 1280X1024 (AMD 2600, 1 Gig of RAM and Radeon 9700 Pro - you're one better than me Val!), with everything cranked up, which I'm very pleased with. Mind you I've only played the tutorial level so far, but WOW. It looks like its going to be very impressive.

Oh farewell life, it was nice having you.

Honestly You will need to buy yourself a new machine for christmas.

my observed Minimum spec.

P4 2,4
1 GIG RAM
80GIG Harddrive with 50 % free space (Performance kids...)
6800 Card, any will do...

a brand new system with this spec. should cost around 500 bucks... otherwise someone is making money on you...

My system: Athlon XP2400, 512MB, GF3(original, non-Ti).
Bloodlines runs much smoother than Morrowind with the same system, and water effects etc. look good.

I noticed some users say they are running this game with a regular Geforce 3 card. Does anyone know whether I can run the game with a Geforce 4 Ti4600? I was under the impression that I had to upgrade my card to play this game and Half-Life 2. Am I mistaken? I was planning on buying an Nvidia 6600 or 6800 GT specifically to play Vampire (and Half-life 2).

My other system specs--Windows ME, P4 1.7 Gig, 512 MB Ram

I ran it with a geforce 4 mx which is sort of basically a geforce 2 running faster. Worse than a geforce 3.

So your card is as far as I recall way above the system requirements.

I ran it with 512 mb also, I think more memory would make it run faster in the hubs like downtown where it got really slow for me. There is a memory leak in the game that made me want to restart the game every hour or so.

Thanks for the info. I have a 10 percent off coupon for Best Buy. I'm going to grab a copy of Vampire this weekend.
