Vocals! The patrons of the Grubby Goblin Tavern and Dinner Theatre demand lyrics! Give us a little warble there, chickadee!

A guardian spamming? Now, that's a rare sight.

Aw, dunno if it is a bug or not, but I have found out that, if you engage counterspell mode, and after that attack mode, and then cancel the counterspell mode, my character attacks normally, but counters all incoming spells as well. Bug or not, I love it!

And as for bards, I'm quite satisfied with the bard/aa combination. I do feel underpowered in most cases, yes, but it's more fun that a plain fighter to me...

speaking of bards, there is this wonderful little hak which makes bards ever-so-slightly more useful in NWN since the way things are now, they seem to be rarely used in multiplayer and almost never used by single-players. what the hak does, is adopt the commonly used house rule of giving bards more skill points and elven weapon proficiencies. it's enough for some people (like me) to give the class a shot.

Oh, and about counterspelling, I totally agree with Xen: don't bother with it for your PCs! In that sense it's similar to the "Parry" skill. But even Parry has *some* use, i.e. if you're a human rogue with tons of skillpoints to blow away and you're playing in a low magic world. it's also a handy skill for builders to assign to NPC characters (since they're fixed-level and all that), providing you modify the AI script to actually use it.

But it's still good that BW put the counterspell mechanism in the NWN *engine* though. As a builder I can make some fun NPC situations involving groups of enemy mages who do nothing but counterspell whatever the PC casts - in a mage-tailored campaign. Also, as Xen pointed out there are some feats which may make Counterspelling more useful. perhaps they'll be added to NWN... someday.
