Letter for da mages

I have a severe problem. I have already joined the OC, etc. I have found that I do not have the letter for mages any more? Is there anything I can do or should I just start over again?

How dod you manage to lose it?
You can always insert it with a code from cheat section of [url=gothic.rpgdot.com]gothic.rpgdot.com[/url] ( I think it's somewhere here...)

I think that that particular quest is not mendetory, as it seems at the beginning of the game.

Spoiler: It isn't important but if you do it you will be able to get a potion that will raise your mana by +5.
