Depressing update for those awaiting Bloodlines |
|
quote:
"Half-Life 2" wasn't the only game delayed by the source-code theft. Valve had licensed out the game's "Source" graphics engine to developer Troika, which was hard at work building "Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines," a PC role-playing game. That game, initially set to be released this year, had to be delayed to implement the same security fixes needed on HL2. It now has a target release date of Spring 2005, said Trokia co-founder Jason Anderson."

Well, maybe this added time will give us RPG fans a chance to nag the devs into adding more content. Like an actual inventory. _________________ Freeeeeeedom! Thank heavens it's summer!

Well, another promising game dropped from my 2004 game list. The only RPG left now is Beyond Divinity (beside many FPS & one Adventure game ).
But still i am happy to know that Bloodlines and Arx Fatalis 2 will be release somewhere in 2005, plus maybe the unannounced PC-Console game from Obsidian, plus the another unannounced PC-only game from Bioware.
Hah!, we probably have another "Golden year of RPG" in 2005/2006!. _________________

I guess this is the year for the small devs to try to shine. _________________ Freeeeeeedom! Thank heavens it's summer!

Or maybe this is the year we all go out into the 'real world' and get lives...

Okay, just got some much better news:

Thank you for your continued interest and support for Vampire: The
Masquerade - Bloodlines. Regarding recent inquiries about the game's
ship date, rest assured that Activision is planning to release the game
this fall, 2004. Stay tuned for more updates coming in the next few
weeks.

Really? And how did you manage that? It hasn't even been released yet. It's not even done. _________________ Freeeeeeedom! Thank heavens it's summer!

Must the game be released to play it?
Must the game be done to play it?
I dont think so |

Then there are only 3 possibilities to explain how you got your hands on the game.
In answer to your questions, yes. If you are going to compare a game to a finished product, then the it too should also be a finished product. _________________ Freeeeeeedom! Thank heavens it's summer!

Excellent - 'cause I have a bunch of questions. Leonard Boyarsky said they'd found a mechanism for combat that would satisfy both RPG and action fans - I'd love to hear about the specific mechanics of combat. Also, apparently the story doesn't allow for some of the non-Camarilla clans like the Ravnos but the Tzimisci are definitely included - why is that? _________________ Editor @ RPGDot |
