Regarding the "excruciating"  wait for Gothic 2 for us in the US:
I figure its some sort of karmic justice for all those times Europeans have had to wait for games we got right away in the U.S.! ... |

Of course I don't know whether you can cheat in the demo or not. But since Marvin is supposed to have a comeback in G2 ( I didn't test it so far ) it should be easy for you to find it out yourself.

i could be wrong, but i thought Gothic 2 was still using Directx 7, which doesn't support pixel shading. i think. (perhaps i should do some research)

Of course I can't set the visibility to 300% what I'd really like to do because ... |
