I'm an old G2 vet believe it or not. After I finished G2 about a year and a half ago I ebay'ed Gothic for $50.
I finally got around to playing it and glad I did! Great game. |

Gothic 1 borrows a forest noise from the DXDiag DirectSound test  .
It doesnt bother me at all. Gothic 1 really nailed the immersion factor.

Seems like the old G2 combat patterns don't apply. I never had to parry an Orc in Gothic 2. Did they actually soften up the Orc in G2?

Install the fps patch and all the other gimmicks.
Oblivion? Its a pig. reducing grass density and object distances are the only real tweaks. Everything else has no effect or makes things worse.
