| haha success! turns out the book he gave me was "paybook" but this seemed to solve the problem, now i can finally get on with the game |

call me a noob but whats the differnce between gothic2, gothic 2 gold, and NotR
i thought NotR was the expansion to gothic2 wich brought the new world with the ancient stone people. And gothic 2 gold ... |

The last info is incorrect. You´re either playing TNotR or you´re playing v1.30, which is the latest German version without the add-on.
