ive prayed 11 times (i think) since becoming a magician and have gained magic each time. Now it seems i dont get anything anymore. Does anyone know why, or how the prayer system works?

How exactly are we supposed to get the magical hammer to smite the golem. The guard is standing there and he beats me down when i try to take it. Plus, he NEVER sleeps
