I remember having a similar problem with Gothic 1 where no NPC's would talk to you. I think the solution was to start a new game. If you have already done that then maybe try the follow ... |

There are a few reasons I don't think a Gothic movie would work.
1) Movie goers might be sick of orcs and all that after the LOTR trilogy
2) Only fans of the Gothic series would really enjoy it ... |
