The Old Camp (after Gomez's raid on the Free Mine) is different -- I usually don't bother with the shadows and diggers at all, but I kill all guards and ore

You got it 
It more realistic this way. As a low level mage you'll learn to run alot.
If you open your inventory and have the health potion selected it's possible to run take a quick drink. |

| I think it should be that way with melee weapons also. When you’re trying to keep your foe away, singing your weapon from side to side, the one closest should take most of the damage. Like range weapo ... |
