To complete this quest you can do 2 things:
-beat the novice guarding it up, steal the hammer, pay the penalty (50 Gold)
-use a sleep spell on the novice, steal the hammer, you won't get a penalty. ... |

Chapter one, dx 22, 10% Bow, Willow Bow, Leather Armour. For Cassia I hopped on top of the cupboard, she was still able to reach me but not quickly enough  |

This would do absolutely nothing, since the game doesn't have locks with 1-digit combination. If it had, this would not make anything easier, it would just make cheating by try ... |
