My advice will be VERY general.
Since you are looking to create a savegame for future play throughs, try to save everything, talk to everyone, do every quest you can complete, and don't spend any s ... |

It is integrated, but you'd quickly see you don't have any savegames When starting NOTR.
Like G2, there are guild specific quests so plan on 3 playthroughs |
