Over by the Guard and Guide will be an exit out of this area leading to the rest of the newbie area, which is called the "Backyard". Boogie on through there and look around. Depending on what allegiance you chose, the actual landscape may look a bit different, but no matter, they all have the same basics items around for you to mess around with.
