Two more reviews of Dark Age of Camelot can be found on the net today. The first one is at Electric Playground, with a final (positive) score of 98%. The second one is at Gaming Unlimited, and finds the game to be "the new king in town" (couldn't find a numerical rating, blame it on the time of the day). here's their conclusion:
There are, in this reviewer's humble opinion, far too many massively-multiplayer online role-playing games on the market today. Asheron's Call, Ultima Online, EverQuest, Anarchy Online, about a billion MUDS, and now Dark Age of Camelot. How does one wade through all of the garbage and mediocre stuff and find the diamond in the rough? It isn't easy. I've played every one of the large, commercial MMORPG's, and none has satisfied me (Ultima Online was great, but let's face it, it's like 20 years old and Lord British himself ran out of Origin butt-naked... well, maybe not butt-naked) as much as Dark Age of Camelot has. Granted, it isn't anything revolutionary (except for it's Realm Combat System, which is amazing), but what is? It's another step in the ever-turning cog of progress. Mythic Entertainment, in their first "huge" project, has created a title nothing short of spectacular.
There's a new top online game in town, and its name is Dark Age of Camelot. Long live the king. |
