Their rating is a solid 8/10, and the conclusion reads like this: Despite the elimination of many strategic facets from the previous game, many new ones have been added. Needed changes have been made that redefine and change the Heroes gameplay to a degree not seen in the series previously, but other problems linger when you don't luck out on a balanced map. Not perfect, but very fresh, different, and full of new tactics to explore, ultimately HOMM IV is still good fun.
