Sven 'Lar' Vincke made the following annoncement on the Divine Divinity boards, indicating that the title will be delayed once again to a Q2 2002 release:Aye - it's no joke. has turned out to be quite a beast, and while the beta has been there for some time now, the QA necessary for this game is amazing. There's so much you can do, and all of that has to be tested, balanced and tweaked. If we wouldn't do that to the point of perfection (which we're trying) you would end up with a game with "potentials" rather than "accomplishments", and that's one thing we don't want to do.
We find ourselves in the same situation as many rpgs before us. Somehow we managed to put it all in, now we have to polish and finish it. At this point in time we're still categorizing and cataloguing all the bugs that need to be solved, then when that's done, we need to actually solve all of them. It does not look like we'll be able to do this within 3 months, which is why CDV has prudently moved the release date to Q2. Next month we will be able to far more accurately judge how much time we still need to finish it all, but as I said, 3 months is probably not enoguh. Hence the delay.
Believe me, there's nobody else in the world who wants to finish this game as soon as possible than us, so we're doing everything we can.
Lar
