Gamerflame's "Justin" has this rather short, albeit enthusiastic, review of Sid Meier's Pirates, for which he awards the game an overall 9.0 out of 10 rating...

Aside from its few flaws, Pirates! is an amazing and addictive game. Although the game lacks any kind of online play, the open-ended gameplay should keep you busy for quite some time. Sid Meier's Pirates! is a must-own for not only strategy fans, but fans of great games in general.
