Atari Australia has kicked up their own write-up of Boiling Point: Road to Hell, that should be heading the way of gamers on May 20:We got out hands on early code of the game and booted it up on the office PC. First off the bat - this game requires a larger specification PC. There are no ifs and buts about it; if you want to play the 'next generation' in PC games then you need a PC to handle it. Boiling Point boasts 625kms square (25X25kms) of world to explore and movement from one area to another is totally seamless thanks to the Asynchronous loading of all level detail, geometry and the people within it. You take on the role of Saul Meyers who discovers his only daughter has gone missing. Tracing her last steps upon your arrival in the town you discover she worked as a journalist and apparently was about to embark on writing a news article about the town gang lord shortly before she disappeared. First appearances of the town before you are impressive; low rise buildings span as far as you can see in any direction, interspersed with parks, seating benches, market stalls manned by shopkeepers. People are looking busy walking up and down the streets and cars and trucks occasionally zoom past as you stand on the sidewalk pondering your first action as a new citizen of the town. Way above a military-spec helicopter passes on a set flight path reminding me of the impending 'crackdown' should I decide to go postal shooting innocent bystanders in what looks like an utterly ill-policed town. | Source: Blue's |
