Long, long.. long...
Unfortunately very little was changed
from Bard's Tale 1, and very little changes
over the course of the game.
The mapping was the most intersting part for me by far. I think that says something.
All the same a decent game for the time. |

I hardly ever had so much fun again playing a CRPG. At its time it was just the best Hack&Slash. Good game balance, 500 monster types, >250 items and >100 spells and the game was realeased quite some time ago. |

the story of this game is actually kinda cool - and the revisiting of Skara Brae is neat (going to the old guild to advance still). however the mega level character required to beat the game and the non-stop combats and a linear story line makes the ending of the game an exercise in casting "NUKE" and healing the party until the end
i WILL admit, that the method defeating the final enemy is rather cool tho :) |

My first RPG, and a maginificent experience. I was so thrilled when I found a Death Horn in Gelidia...
The plot wasn't based on a very original idea (kill Tarjan :)), but told in an excellent way. All the different worlds felt different. It was just great to have Chronomancer spells taking you to different worlds.
Oh, and one of the greatest moments in the game for me was when I learnt a new bard song in Lucencia. The melodies were so cool :)
Oh, and don't bother playing the crappy and extremly buggy PC version. The C64 version surpasses it in every way. It even has better graphics and music IMO! |

I remember this as being rather a short game. Fun for what it was, but the formula of Bard's Tale was getting stale--it didn't have the orginality of the first or the scope of the second. |

I liked it, but it didn't impressed me as much as BT1 a few years before. In the retrospective view I can't remember something very special or unique anymore. |

Never finished it unfortunately. Got stuck on the world with the lava. I liked transferring characters from Bard's Tale II. Worked fine on my Amiga. CHARACTER CUSTOMIZATION FTW!!! |
