RPGVault has two reports from E3 up. The first is on Morrowind.
A strong basic framework for the Elder Scrolls: Morrowind appears to be in place; what Bethesda is responsible for now is level and quest design, balance issues, and bug hunting. Daggerfall, while critically acclaimed, is also a game frequently cited as having been extremely buggy. That being the case, both Todd and Ken assured us that this had not been forgotten and that Bethsoft will be taking great pains to ensure that Morrowind is as problem-free as possible. We didn't have the chance for any hands-on playing time, but from the impressive demonstration we saw at E3, it's certainly to be hoped that this will be the case so that the game can achieve its considerable potential. Morrowind is currently projected to ship in the last quarter of this year.
The second is on Harbinger.
Although what we saw and heard at the show was of necessity short and limited in scope, it was definitely enough for me to want to see more. It looks well on its way to being a fun, playable game with a fairly substantial story component set in an intriguing gameworld populated with some interesting original creatures and depicted in an eye-pleasing manner. Had I not known already, I would certainly have thought it the product of a much larger team. Silverback's current target is to complete the game by the end of the year. I hope Silverback is successful in finding a publisher, and I look forward to watching the game progress over the months that lie ahead.
