PC.IGN has gotten their hands on a near-finished full copy of Deus Ex: Invisible War and put together a fairly comprehensive hands-on preview. Here's an excerpt:One of the reasons that I haven't progressed very far in the game is that I have become obsessed with traveling down the different paths available to the player. This is one of the best things about the original Deus Ex and is back in full force. It's not just that there are so many different ways to go about dealing with specific problems and puzzles in the game. It's also about deciding who to trust, how far to trust them, and how many of their missions you would like to carry out. Just in my little time with the game there are at least two different groups which you can work for that apparently have differing agendas (although we'll see how long that lasts) and will give you different missions. There is also a third that I'm starting to see might also be open to a suggestion of contract work... but that's a path I still need to move down and a subject that I fear to set upon as it could provide for some spoilers. But as I said, this is still near the beginning of the game. There are certainly plenty more surprises to look forward to as well as some other organizations with even different aims that may be open to my offer of work later in the game. |
