A Bloodmoon interview with Peter Hines from Bethesda has been posted at eToychest. The questions are rather lengthy, although the answers aren't. Here's a sample:
Q: It's been mentioned several times that Bloodmoon is very much "a game unto itself". For the first time in Morrowind, snow and ice is prevalent, new creatures are being discovered, and new prophecies are spread. The humanoid population seems very Nord-centric however, which is a larger switch than one would imagine. The nords were often shunned by other races, especially the dunmer, because of their history (namely their invasion and attempted takeover). Nord characters have had a notoriously hard time advancing in the main storyline because of the population domination by the Dark Elves. Will the tables be turned in this expansion? Will there be tension between the two? The people on the mainland seemed wholly uninterested in the affairs of Mournhold. Will they be more agitated now that the Nordic land is open to the public?
Solstheim is an untamed wilderness with lots of different creatures and tribes of Nords. The Imperials are trying to build up a mining colony to tap into Solstheim’s resources. They are all involved with the main plotline. We don’t explore racial conflict as much simply because everyone is trying to survive on the island. We wanted to get away from the political themes in Tribunal and go back to “powergamer heaven” – a brand new island with lots of creatures and dungeons and loot. | Source: RPGVault |
