GameSpy has interviewed the team of "Elemental" a total conversion of Dungeon Siege that is currently in development. Elemental's theme is "Biblepunk", as they call it, and the game is set in an alternate mythical version of ancient Judea that is gritty, mean, profane, full of thieves and Romans and whores.
Here's an excerpt from the interview:
GameSpy: Why did you choose to make a TC for Dungeon Siege?
Assembler_of_Redux: Some of us knew Scott Bilas' papers on data-driven designs. We had great respect for Chris Taylor as a designer and as an engineer of extremely flexible engines. So, when we all started talking about a platform to do the kind of extensive modding necessary for a project like this, DS popped up first. No other engine had anywhere near the flexibility (or, as we came to find out firsthand, the developer support). It was probably the only good decision we made early on.

The actual interview is preceded by a short Q&A with Chris Taylor.
