Thanks to Andy from PlayXcess for letting us know that they have posted a review of the 'Trials of Atlantis' expansion for 'Dark Age of Camelot'. Rating: 7/10.
The culture of the Massively Multiplayer Online Role Playing Game is a dark, foreboding one; oft scary and more disturbing than a mental image of Sir Elton of the John wearing nothing more than a dirty grin. It is, then, no wonder that MMORPGs are deemed territory of the über-gamer, unforgiving power-levelers that eat newbies for breakfast and leave their still-warm remains for an obligatory Orc to munch on. The likes of EverQuest and Ultima, whilst infinitely popular, seem to follow this system of survival of the fittest, leaving the fantastical lands more-or-less bereft of inexperienced players. However, what happens if you change the gameplay dynamics somewhat, promoting camaraderie and building communities on a scale beyond those of a clan? Welcome to Camelot, a world divided by brutal conflict...
